Greeting... Is systables.tabname column case-sensitive? What is the different between these two sql statement: A) select 1 from systables where tabname="LPAtable" ==> no row found B) select 1 from systables where tabname="lpatable" ==> one row returned Thanks kit
Select clause "where tabname = 'xxxx'" is case sensitive. YES, all select statements are case-sensitive. But you can use the buildin function "upper" (where upper(tabname) = upper("lpatable") Low Kit Ming wrote: > Greeting... > > Is systables.tabname column case-sensitive? > > What is the different between these two sql statement: > A) select 1 from systables where tabname="LPAtable" ==> no row found > B) select 1 from systables where tabname="lpatable" ==> one row > returned > > Thanks > kit --

The table names are stored in lowercase. 2) the select statement (WHERE clause) is case sensitive Regards -- Helmut Leininger Bull AG / Vienna Open Systems Support Email: h.leininger@bull.at helmut.leininger@bull.net This opinion is mine and not necessarily that of my employer. The statement will match whatever is in tabname - a criterion of '=' is always case sensitive regardless of what table you are querying. /J\\ -- "It's times like this I wish I had a penis" - Duckman
