Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Low Kit Ming asked whether systables.tabname is case-sensitive, since a WHERE match on LPAtable found no row but lpatable did. Christophe MAUMONT, Prounix GmbH, Helmut Leininger and Jonathan Stowe all confirmed that WHERE comparisons are case-sensitive. Prounix suggested upper(tabname) = upper("lpatable"); Leininger noted table names are stored in lowercase in non-ANSI databases. Solved.

Greeting...
Is systables.tabname column case-sensitive?
What is the different between these two sql statement:
A) select 1 from systables where tabname="LPAtable" ==> no row found
B) select 1 from systables where tabname="lpatable" ==> one row
returned
Thanks

Select clause "where tabname = 'xxxx'" is case sensitive.

YES,
all select statements are case-sensitive.
But you can use the buildin function "upper" (where upper(tabname) =
upper("lpatable")

Hi,
I think you are mixing up two facts:
1) table names are not case sensitive, at least if the database is not
ansi compliant. The table names are stored in lowercase.
2) the select statement (WHERE clause) is case sensitive

Yes. The statement will match whatever is in tabname - a criterion of '='
is always case sensitive regardless of what table you are querying.
