I'm new to this news group so if this is FAQ, please be tolerant.
Problem:
Using Informix 4gl-compiled version, v1.10 on a SCO ODT/Compaq i386 box;
Want to input a discrete variable, then an array, on one screen, but want it to look like 'one input' to the user. The idea is to capture the ESCAPE in the first input, set an 'esc_flag', then condition the second input on whether the esc_flag is NOT set. This way the user presses ESCAPE just once to finish the input screen. The following code segment was used (with all the proper array setup):
let esc_flag = FALSE
Options accept key control-V # to disable accept key
Input prod_code without defaults
on key ( ESCAPE )
let esc_flag = TRUE
End input
If esc_flag and not int_flag then
input array p_array from s_array.*
end if
Options Accept key ESCAPE # To restore the ESCAPE key
This will not compile. It gives the error:
OPTIONS ACCEPT KEY ESCAPE

The problem seems to be with using ESCAPE in the OPTIONS statement, as it will even occur if I rewrap it in a sub function. I have used other 4GL versions, and have not run into this problem before. Any clues ? Any alternatives ? I'll appreciate any suggestions.
