It's probably a good idea to make sure you have the latest iBCS
from tsx-11.mit.edu:/pub/linux/BETA/ibcs2/ although I don't _think_
there have been significant changes that might affect you.

This generally means that the sqlexec backend failed. You should
be able to check your Informix-for-Linux installation using dbaccess.
If that fails you probably mucked up the I-for-L installed. You did
dump I-for-L on top of your old SCO Informix and not vice-versa?
