Re: PERL CGI with IDS v9.4 ?

We've have been using Perl quite happily for a while on AIX with many versions of IDS including 9.4 without any real problems. If you are just getting started with Perl, a few suggestions: 1.) I'm not sure about HP-UX but, if there is a version of Perl in use by the OS, install your own version anyway. It's worthwhile in the long run to 'control' the version of Perl you are using and that way you can install the most recent versions of Perl and modules. 2.) Read the docs, there is a wealth of information out there about Perl in general and connecting Perl to databases using DBI, etc. Google is your friend, specifically look at http://dbi.perl.org/ In a bit of self promotion and maybe of some use there's a presentation on IIUG about Perl / Informix http://www.iiug.org/waiug/present/Forum2004/sessions/Priest_dbi-dbd2.ppt HTH, -Darryl
