Are there any strings routines under SPL?

Hi all (from Paris) I am using Informix Universal Server v.9.14 TC1 under NT 4 Q1: I would like to split a string into parts separated by a specific token and I havent found any routines available to perform this task. Anyone knows a built-in routine and if not, what can I use to do this without using an external module (C, Lexx,Yacc, ...)???? For instance, I get the following string: aaaa|bbbb|cccc|dddd and I must be able to read aaaa, bbbb, cccc, dddd in a buffer to process it (they are all of the same length, here 4) Q2: Whats the maximum length of a parameter (string type) that a stored procedure can put up with??? I would be very grateful for any ideas you may have!! Thanks!

There aren't any in 9.14; you'll need to wait for the Centaur product, due out soon. > [...] > Q2: > Whats the maximum length of a parameter (string type) that a stored > procedure can put up with??? 32767 in a CHAR(32767). If you mean string literal, then 256 unless you play some tricks with environment variables (and maybe not even then). -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.60 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>
