I am looking for someone to define the SMI tables that drive the
screen output for onstat -g , especially the Memory Grant Manager, I
would look to use a korn shell script and the crontab to capture
certain dB Metrics for a month at a time (active vs. ready, etc.). My
solution is to find the SMI tables that drive the screen output for
the onstat commands. I can query them each morning from a job in the
corntab and write this data to a static table.
Why?
We have had some problems with our Sun server staying afloat. When
the server comes down, Informix comes down with it, including the
stats it collects over the period of time it is up.
I am currently extrapolating the data for the number of days we are up
and figuring out a mean number from the number of business days in the
month.
Any hints, suggestions, admonishments, etc?
PS - Anyone have problems with ODS 7.23 UC5 and NFS mounted disks
between Solaris 2.5 and VMS?
