Backup on inst1 and restore on inst2

Hi all, I have 2 instances IDS 10 (inst1 and inst2) on the same machine Windows 2003. The 2 instances have the same configuration, unless DBSERVERNAME and SERVERNUM and the same structure. I would like to know if is it possible to backup the datas of the inst1 and make a restore with the ontape and the -rename option on the inst2. Example backup on inst1: --> C:\\IFMXDATA\\inst1\\rootdbs_dat.000 --> C:\\IFMXDATA\\inst1\\dbs1_dat.000 Can I make the restore on inst2: ontape -r -rename -p C:\\IFMXDATA\\inst1\\dbs1_dat.000 -o 0 -n C:\\IFMXDATA\\inst2\\dbs1_dat.000 -o 0 -rename -p C:\\IFMXDATA\\inst1\\rootdbs_dat.000 -o 0 -n C:\\IFMXDATA\\inst2\\rootdbs_dat.000 -o 0 In my test I got the error: Physical restore failed - Invalid DBspace list but pheraphs I made some errors... I would have a secondary instance with the updated datas of the primary instance, but I shouldn't stop the primary instance to make a dbexport during the night. Thank you, Francesco
