ERROR -354 in VB -> Q+E ODBC -> INFORMIX 6.0 SQL
Posted in 1995
Hi Folks,
This is a very interesting problem that i am facing.
My client is Windows 3.11 /16MB and running an application
written in VB accessing Informix 6.0 using Q+E Informix ODBC
drivers on TCP/IP.
The four statments that are called from my VB code are as
follows, all of them are dynasets :
T1 = select count(*) from Table1
A = select name from Table2 where col1 = 1
B = select col1 from Table3 (*** - No where clause)
C = select name from Table4
The sequence of execution in my code is T1 then A then B then C
then T1 which is when it raises the error -354 which according
to the manual is Incorrect cursor or database name.
The same problem does not happen if i close the dynaset
associated with A before i execute T1 again.
Is this error number misleading ?
The entire set of onstat options have been exhausted for this
scenario ( -g sql, -glo , -act, -ses ..)
Is there are parameter which can be fine-tuned to solve this?
TIA,
Venki
