OS/2 Connectivity

I need help connecting to an Informix 7 database using OS/2 Warp Connect 3+. The INET 5 client for OS/2 is not supported by Informix for OS/2 Warp Connect 3+. We are able to "ping" the database server (TCP/IP is the protocol), but are unable to get any farther then this. Also in use is Intersolv's DataDirect product for ODBC connectivity. Any input as to why we are unable to connect would be appreciated
