Please get a copy of the latest version, at least 7.22.TC1 . It runs significantly better than earlier versions, or at least appears to. You should have at least 64 MB memory, get more if you can. NT Server behaves differently than WKstation. And use an EISA system and SCSI or better if you can. The latest OWGS automatically separates the dbspaces for logsdb, physdb, and rootdb upon install. And get the latest ROM 2.1 for it too, which is free from Informix. ROM 2.1 has an improved Database Explorer, and new editors for Stored Procs, Triggers, and Views. They did a pretty good job on the improvements and the product. NT has an environment that can be doing strange things all by itself without having anything to do with the data base. I'm suspecting you're system does not have enough memory. As for the intermittent problems, I would not immediately blame the data base, but look at how NT is running. There are various performance monitors for NT, they are worth watching the system with. Performance monitor, found on the START menu-->Admin Tools is pretty comprehensive, and should give you hours of viewable information you can really get confused about. In fact it can contribute to the problems...
