True, character apps can be made event driven; but if you look at the features and language of NewEra, there's a whole bunch of functionality that you'd never be able to port sensibly to the character environment. To write a NewEra app to port to char, you'd really have to compromise what you did. I hear from the grapevine that there's going to be announcement about how they plan to address this, so perhaps soon we'll all know the official line.
