I have worked with Informix for many years and they have a very debugged product. The only concern we have found so far is that PDQ in 7.1 optimizes queries differently. Some queries that run fine in 5.0 and 6.0 must be tuned differently. This is a no brainer. 7.1 with PDQ is much faster than 5.0 or 6.0. I promise, you will be shocked with the speed increase.
