Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Jeffrey asked how hard it is to export Informix data to an Access or Paradox database. One poster suggested a simple UNLOAD TO a text file from a SELECT, which can include joins. Jun Nolasco advised creating an Access table with an ODBC data source via a configured Informix ODBC driver, not knowing Paradox. Michael Krzepkowski suggested Infomaker, whose pipeline feature uses a native Informix driver. No outcome reported.

Hi,
Can anyone help me with information regarding how hard or easy it is
to export files to an Access or Paradox database? Any help would be
appreciated. Thanks

Extremely simple
unload to file.txt
select * from table;
What is nice it the power of the select statment included to get parts
or a table or to use joins getting stuff from many tables.

In Access, create a new table and specify that the data source is an
ODBC database (using of course a properly configured Informix ODBC
driver).
Don't know (and don't use) about Paradox though.

Hi!
You may want to look at Infomaker (www.sybase.com). It has a pipeline feature
allowing you to transfer data between various databases and it uses a native
(not ODBC)
Informix driver. It is relatively in-expensive product.
