This trend continued in Q4. ..." Why not just say "2006 was undoubtedly a good year for Informix with double digit revenue growth in all 4 quarters of 2006"? Is there some sophistry at large here?.
Curious that the name or likeness thereof "Informix" to be found nowhere in the actual press release/report that Mr Bowerman pointed to. I saw other brands represented but did not see any mention or use of the word "[Ii]nformix", [Dd]ata, 'IDS','ID' --unless perhaps I'm looking at a different report? : http://www.ibm.com/investor/4q06/4q06earnings.phtml . eric@herber-consulting.de wrote: > FYI: > > 'IDS license revenue for 2006 grew over 30%' > > http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/blogs/page/gbowerman?entry=informix_2006_license_revenue&ca=drs-bl > http://www.informix-zone.com/ids-license-growth >

"For the WebSphere family of software products, which facilitate customers' ability to manage a wide variety of business processes using open standards to interconnect applications, data and operating systems, revenues increased 22 percent. Revenues for Information Management software, which enables clients to leverage information on demand, increased 28 percent. Revenues from Tivoli software, infrastructure software that enables customers to centrally manage networks including security and storage capability, increased 25 percent, and revenues for Lotus software, which allows collaborating and messaging by customers in real-time communication and knowledge management, increased 30 percent year over year. Revenues from Rational software, integrated tools to improve the processes of software development, increased 12 percent compared with the year-ago quarter." Informix is a product, or more accurately range of products, within the Information Management brand. (Which "enables clients to leverage information on demand" :-))))))
So, WEBSPHERE increased 22%, and we seen Information Management increased 28%, but still no direct reference to Informix. For all we know it could have had nothing to do with Informix. Informix: Prove it. Show me the money. Otherwise I'll have no choice but to conclude that Guy is whispering nothing but gossip, and pure, unadulterated, sycophant bullshit. Guy you're a liar and a gossip unless you can show some PROOF, get it? It's all lies!
