Inside a stored procedure in OnLine version 7.2 at least, there is the DBINFO('sessionid') call -- see Informix Guide to SQL: Syntax Version 7.2,Volume 2, p1-693. Judging from the 7.1 manual, this is a new feature for 7.2, but it might be worth trying anyway.
