Informix was initially ported to libc5 which provides a libcrypt you seem to have a libc6 version. Check out the HOW-TOs at the IIUG WEB site for help or upgrade to the newer release of ESQL/C which works for you. Art S. Kagel

I think the problem is the other way around; the newer glibc6 (aka glibc 2.0.x, where x should be 7) is used in the more recent ports, and libc5 did not need it -- the crypt code was in the main C library. Louis would appear to have the more recent version of SE and an older version of the kernel. Whatever it is, Louis, you need to check your kernel and C library versions, and ensure that the Linux you are using has sufficiently recent versions of both (kernel 2.0.36 (or 2.0.34) or later, and glibc 2.0.7 or later, I think). -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.60 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>
