Getting access to SE from OL

We're are running ODT 1.1 on 386 PCs with the 4.1 SE and 4.1 OnLine. We have to get access to remote SE databases from OnLine databases. We made a lot of tests using the instructions writen on the manual, but we couldn't get it. I guess I'm missing some environment parameter or something like that. Anyway, does anybody know how to do it ? Thanx in advance.
