RE: problems after installing IDS on Windows XP Home

Groups exist in XP, but you have to dig. Follow this path to see them:
Start
Control Panel
Computer Management (may be hidden, Tweak UI can un-hide it)
Check to make sure the user Informix exists and is a member of
the Informix-admin group. Also make sure that the service is to be
started by Informix, not administrator or "Local System Account". Also,
if you haven't initialized your rootdbs (should have happened during
install), the service won't run. If you need to do it manually, you
will have to either add the -i to the service startup config or type
oninit -i from the command line, let it run until the engine has builtall of the system tables, etc. and is stable and run onmode -yuk from
another window to stop it safely, then type starts MY_SERVER_NAME to
start the service. If you can't get it to go, post your onconfig file.

I tried that without success.
You must have an Informix-Admin group.
There no "groups" in XP-home as far as I know.
