Did you install all the patches which Informix recommend ? We had trouble with IDS 7.3 on HP-UX 10.20 until we installed all the patches. You should find a list in the machine-specific release note $INFORMIXDIR/release/en_us/0333/IDS_7.2. There should also be suggested kernel settings in the same file - though the recommended settings for 7.3 left us with an unbootable machine !
