HPL on HP10.20 and 7.23

hi, in followup to my last post, we are trying to run the hpl on hp10.20, 7.23. when i do a load, the load times are pretty good, but the machine is completely unusable at any level. typical response time for a command from the shell is 5-10 minutes, i don't even get a login prompt on the console. so it is not informix that is slow, but the whole system. it takes me about 20 mintes to so an onstat -u to get my session number, and then an onmode -z to kill the process. pretty amazing. i just tried an unload from table to files on disk, and so far it looks like the system is completely hung. a bit of a problem, wuldn't you say???:-) but seeing as how the hpl doesn't work at all on hp in 7.21 and 7.22, we were hoping for some access to this thing. if we want good load times when no one else is accessing the system, we seem to be ok, but it looks like we won't be able to unlaod anything:-( no reponse from informix yet. any other experiences out there??? thanks, mickm -- _____________________________________________________________________________ Mickey Mestel mickm@netcom.com -on a beach in thailand to a beautiful, stoned, norwegian woman: "..yeah, it's just another foreign country without ice." -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
