Well, your users need to have the following set: PATH to include the directory where the Informix binaries reside INFORMIXDIR to specify the Informix installation directory INFORMIXSERVER to specify which instance to connect to. If you have already created the database, you need to GRANT CONNECT permission for the other users to access it.
