Re: checkpoints taking as much as 25 secs

Thanks for all your help everyone. I will not these suggestions and make necessary changes and hopefully will have time to monitor the engine and spend less time on other tasks (where have i heard this before haha). There seems to be a lot of help and info available in this group and I hope to learn from it as unfortunately informix support were not very helpfull this time despite and an informix consultant helping to set up the system. Although I must say Informix support are by far the most helpfull of all our external support folk and know thier stuff. I will hopefully get on a course soon and may be ablke to contribute one day :-)
