RE: Moving loical logs in another dbspace
Posted in 1999
Run these following
Onmonitor
Select modes
Select Immediate Shutdown ( TO quiscent mode )
Select Parameters
Drop log
Drop all 3 in rootdbs by pressing F3 key
Select Add log
Add one by one and specify the dbspace name whatever it might be
Choose modes
Select online
After exting from onmonitor, run ontape 's 'L 0 to start using
the new logs added.
Hope this helps
Sam

Server has to be in Quiscent mode for doing this.
How many logical logs are there in rootdbs right now ? I assume
3 here.
There has to be minimum 3 logs at any time.
Use onparams -a -d <dbspace name> -s <size in Kb> to add logical
logs.
LOGSMAX configuration parameter plays an important role here.
To make the newly added logs available to the system, u need to
run the fake
backup ( onbar -b -F ) Now u can get rid of the old logical
logs which are
backed up.
Also use onmode -l to make one of the new logs as current log.
After that use onmode -c to do a checkpoint - this will be
recorded in the
current log.
Hope this helps u.

I installed and created IFX 7.31UC2a instance on Sun 7

logical logs
frok rootdbs to new dbspace. Any help is greatly appreciated.
