For one, when using an attached ODBC table in a Query (sorry Informixers for all the Access lingo), the attached ODBC table (in this case, Informix) must have a unique index if you want to perform updates. This is especially troublesome if you are trying to use an existing Informix database that was written with "rowid" logic and the ODBC driver and Access don't recognize 'rowid' as a field in each table. I have not had any trouble writing directly to Tables (as opposed to a Query) in any case (yet?). rodney
