Speaking of licenses, I just got a quote on IDS for a small to medium sized web application. In anything where internet users can touch the DBMS, they charge (a lot) per CPU. This is a little hard to swallow, but I guess this is a way to insure that the web users pay the toll. I would think that Informix wouldn't penalize customers for putting their products on the internet, but maybe Oracle, Sybase, Microsoft do the same?
