I checked a few outer joins on Informix Online 5.01 and on Oracle 7.1. Both the engines returned identical results and these were as per my expectations. I have used Outer Joins in Informix without any problem so far. Since the original poster that talked about Outer Join problem didnot give any details as to the conditions under which the problem occured, my test may not be valid. If the person who encountered the bug can provide details, it will be helpful to all readers of this newsgroup. Raj My opinions only.
