And }that means less headache than doing the job with C/C++. Perl is still one of }the best RAD tools - specially for batch jobs. If you have I4GL, it will be much easier to write a C-function (it may be available in user-group software repository) to read ASCII-file into I4GL-string and to modify the database. In this case except the C-function everything else can be written in I4GL. If you are using Informix-RDS, this could be much faster to develop, than any other Rapid-Development-Tools, at least I think so. Felix Koshy Mathews fmathews@systems.dhl.com
