You can do what you wish if you do it the hard way: use an "INPUT ARRAY" statement instead of a "DISPLAY ARRAY" statement (which allows you much finer control over the fields) and use the BEFORE/AFTER FIELD clauses to clear and update the extra line item. You will probably want to add a dummy single-character field to the left side of the array and make it autonext to emulate the "DISPLAY ARRAY" statement better.
