Plexus is a manufacturer of Document Imaging and Workflow software products. A company called Plexus Computers Inc. was foundered by Bob Marsh in 1980 and was one of the pioneer manufacturers of UNIX Motorola based equipment in the 80-90s. In March, 1989, Plexus Computers Inc. filed Chapter 11 and was bought out by Recognition International ( then called Recognition Equipment Inc. ). There core software product is a document imaging development environment which they developed back in the late 80s and have been enhancing ever since. Their products are based on Informix. Infact, they obtained source license rights to all of the Informix RDBMS products in 1987/1988 and ported Informix 4GL to Windows and added BLOB support to Informix-TURBO. Plexus produces very poor documentation and unfortunately there have been no independent books written on how to use their tool-sets. There products are very powerful and proven many times in true OLTP environments. My company is currently consulting to the IRS and we are using Plexus products to implement the largest UNIX based imaging system in the world. If you need specific help on any Plexus related problem, I worked for them for 7-years and can probably help you out. Rick Clark President & CEO Imaging Business Consultants, Inc.
