Hi I will appreciate your advice My database have one chunk damaged and can't open it at startup, so I wanted to delete that chunk. How can I delete the database on that chunk so I can delete the chunk. Thanks in advance. IDS 9.40FC9 Solaris.
You cannot. If you have an archive, I would suggest relinking the chunk
path to an undamaged structure and restoring. If you don't have an archive,
then you'll have to export all of you remaining data, reinitialize the
instance to an empty one (oninit -i) and reload everything you haven't lost
starting over again.
Tech support can drop the chunk, but any data in that dbspace is likely lost
and they will just tell you the same thing I have, restore or export and
start over.
