Run Command 2.10 to 4.10

Hello Netters, We have recently undergone a conversion of all our applications from Informix 4GL 2.10.03K to Informix 4GL 4.10.UD2 with 5.00.UD1 SE. There seem to be some differences in the way the RUN command works. In 2.10 RUN seems to exec /bin/sh -c runcommand whereas V4 seems to exec pw_shell -c runcommand where pw_shell is the users shell entry from the password file. Many of our users do not have shell access and their passwd shell entry is set to a Shell script that auto generates menus dependent on an authorisation file. The menu programs do not accept arguments therefore our run commands no longer work. Can somebody who knows confirm that this is/is not the way the run command works.
