Error al realizar un DBIMPORT
David's dbimport (dbexport from Informix 9.0 into IDS 7.3) failed on most tables with "Load file has different number of columns than table", although the .unl data looked correct. Art Kagel suggested embedded delimiters or newlines needing backslash escaping; Mike Walker and Viviana Gomez pointed instead to hidden CR (^M) characters from a DOS-format transfer. That was the cause: the files had passed through a Windows machine and stayed in DOS format. David fixed it by converting them with dos2unix myfile.unl.

Con un atento saludos a todos, pido su ayuda con un error que tengo al hacer
un dbimport de mi base.
El error que despliega es que las columnas del archivo , no son iguales a las
columnas de la tabla, este error me da en la gran mayoria de las tablas de mi
base de datos. Lo he revisado una y otra vez pero no encuentro la diferencia.
A continuacion les copio el error que sale y el esquema de una de las tablas
que me indica el error:

Como nota puedo indicar que cuando saque el dbexport de mi base lo hice en una
version de Informix de 9.0 y lo estoy subiendo en una version de IDS 7.3.

Wow, you REALLY need to upgrade! You are exporting from v9 to v7.3 both out
of support.
That aside, the problem is most likely that some of the rows in some unload
files contain embedded delimiter characters (|) or embedded new line
characters so that those rows. You may have to manually edit the files and
fix those rows by quoting the embedded delimiters and/or new lines with
backslash (\\\\) characters.

I have a test machine in V7.3 is why I need to get on that version .
Try to change the delimiters by ";" but it was not the solution

The file looks okay, so I would guess that you have some hidden characters
in the files...most likely at the END of each line. If you moved the file
from one server to another, you may have introduced some carriage return
characters. Assuming that you're on UNIX, if you "vi" the file
cb00000100.unl you may see ^M at the end of each line, or run "od -c
cb00000100.unl" you may see combinations of \\\\r and \\
. If so, then you'll
need to copy the file again as a non-dos file or strip out the return
characters.

Como nota puedo indicar que cuando saque el dbexport de mi base lo hice en
una version de Informix de 9.0 y lo estoy subiendo en una version de IDS
7.3.

Hola David,
No te carga ning=FAn registro el dbimport ? Tendr=E1s ^M al final de cada
l=EDnea?
Si te carga, fijate cuantos registros tiene la tabla, edita el archivo anda
a la l=EDnea siguiente y mira si tiene alg=FAn caracter que este mal.

Con un atento saludos a todos, pido su ayuda con un error que tengo al
hacer
un dbimport de mi base.
El error que despliega es que las columnas del archivo , no son iguales a
las
columnas de la tabla, este error me da en la gran mayoria de las tablas de
mi
base de datos. Lo he revisado una y otra vez pero no encuentro la
diferencia.
A continuacion les copio el error que sale y el esquema de una de las
tablas
que me indica el error:

No me carga registros mas que unos pocos de unas pocas tablas
Gracias a todos por la ayuda..!! Para personas que le haya sucedido este caso, la solucion es cambiar de tipo de archivo, ya que cuando Yo lo subi a una maquina con Windows, subio a DOS, y al copiarlo nuevamente a linux lo subi de igual manera como archivo DOS. Lo unico que tube que hacer es cambiar el tipo de archivo a UNIX con el comando dosunix mas el nombre del archivo. Saludos, David
