Re: Onbar and storage pools
Posted in 1999
When using ADSM, you define two management classes, with different storage
pools on the ADSM side. Then, in the include file, you specify the
databases (normally of the form
/$INFORMIXSERVER/$INFORMIXSERVER/*/0) and list one management class. And
specify the logs (of the form
/$INFORMIXSERVER/$INFORMIXSERVER/0/*) and list the other management class.
I actually use 3 management classes, 1 for level 0 backup, 1 for level 1
backup, and 1 for logs because of different retention characteristics. My
ADSM include file looks like--
INCLUDE /chpftecdevshm/chpftecdevshm/*/* DBDBIBKUP (Incremental DB
backup)
INCLUDE /chpftecdevshm/chpftecdevshm/*/0 DBDBBKUP (Level 0 DB backup)
INCLUDE /chpftecdevshm/chpftecdevshm/0/* DBLOGBKUP (Log backup)
(Remember, ADSM scans the include file from bottom to top for matching file
name)
Hope that helps.
