Fuzzy checkpoints, then Regular Checkpoints??

Informix 10.FC7:
09:27:19 Maximum server connections 0
09:32:22 Fuzzy Checkpoint Completed: duration was 0 seconds, 29buffers not fl
ushed.
09:32:22 Checkpoint loguniq 51, logpos 0x5b52f8, timestamp:0x2c783a49
09:32:22 Maximum server connections 0
09:37:25 Fuzzy Checkpoint Completed: duration was 0 seconds, 25buffers not fl
ushed.
09:37:25 Checkpoint loguniq 51, logpos 0x5b6298, timestamp:0x2c804afa
09:37:25 Maximum server connections 0
09:42:28 Checkpoint Completed: duration was 0 seconds.
09:42:28 Checkpoint loguniq 51, logpos 0x5b7018, timestamp:0x2c87d57f
09:42:28 Maximum server connections 0
09:47:31 Checkpoint Completed: duration was 0 seconds.
09:47:31 Checkpoint loguniq 51, logpos 0x5b8018, timestamp:0x2c8ee6f2
There is nothing snipped between those checkpoints, and I'm seeing
that in many other places. NOFUZZYCKPT is not set for the Informix
user.
Is this correct for 10.00? Or is something weird going on?

This is very normal for IDS 9.2 through IDS 10. IDS 11 deprecated
fuzzies because of the rewrite of the checkpoint architecture. IF
NOFUZZYCKPT was turned on, then you'd only see "full checkpoints",
although the word "full" won't be found ('cept for when I rewrite the
msg log in my Sanity Check).
There are many operations that require a full checkpoint (archiving,
adding a chunk, etc..., if the next llog to be used is only being
blocked due to a fuzzy, and a few others), not to mention, internally
we don't let "x" number of checkpoints go by with a full occurring.
Last I recall, x=3 or 2, but someone else (ifmx kernel guys) might
chime in here. Do you have questions about fuzzies vs. full? You can
contact me directly if so, and I'll give you the long-winded
version(s) if you like.
