Apparently AIX has the same incompatible version of ar as Ultrix had and some folk are having trouble extracting the source to myschema from the ar archive contained in utils2_ak. Anyone using AIX who needs to extract the myschema source from the .ar file can either get the source to GNU ar or email me for my portable ar archiver, ar2_port.c, which understands both SystemV and BSD ar formats and a third format (mine) that is actually portable (ie can be extracted by ANY other archiver except that long names are truncated). This is documented in the README.1st but apparently not everyone reads README files. Art S. Kagel
