Raid 0 / Informix

Can anyone explain me following: I have a raid 0 - set of 2 drives (e.g. 2x2,1GB). I split this stripe into 3 partitions of 1,4 GB. Can i be sure, that the first partition is really on the beginning of my 2 drives? I will place my rootdbs in this first partition because i think that the performance on the first partition is faster than middle or end of the disk. Thanks for all suggestions.
