HP physical volumes - volume groupes

config: Informix 11.7FC8 HP UX 11.31 Storage : HP 3PAR We are migrating our 500gb oltp database to a new HP server and want to create the db spaces using raw devices on HP 3PAR storage system. I have been told that it would improve performance if we use multiple volume groups. What would be the best setup regarding physical volumes and volume groups ?
