Thanks for your resposes. The most common seemed to be related to moving the interval value from a variable of type INTERVAL HOUR to SECOND to one of type INTERVAL SECOND(6) to SECOND. This would work well, except that I wanted end users to be able to perform the queries and format this data. I ended up changing the column to INTERVAL SECOND(6) to SECOND - its feels a bit like a surrender, but I've better things to do than get caught up in something so arcane. I wonder, when we get Univeral Server, if we will have the ability to create additional functions against existing data types that could then be called in embedded SQL. That would provide an easy fix - just a bunch of simple functions that convert from one type to another.
