Re: Select from 2 Servers

Hi.
From Server#2 it would be:
select *
from Server#1@xx1:abc
I'm supposing that Server#1 and Server#2 are informix-server names
as defined at first field in sqlhosts file.
Warning: that kind of syntax works only when logging mode on both
servers are the same. (I mean, both transactional or both no transactional)
Besides, you must have trusted connection to Server#1 server from
Server#2 server when both of them are different machines.

There is one additional thing to look out for: If Server#1 and Server#2 are
hosted on the same machine, and in sqlhosts the connection protocol for both
is "shared memory", this will not work. You will have to create a server alias
for network connections in Server#1's ONCONFIG, add an entry in sqlhosts
for this alias using a network connection protocol, and use this alias instead
of "Server#1".
