The C++ runtime is part of the SUNWlibC package on Solaris (bundled with
the OS). It is included in the "Entire Solaris Software Group". You do
not
have to buy the Sun compiler.
Helen
Thank you kindly.
I was uncertain because I had always thought that the Sun Developer (and
higher groups) included the libraries, even though they omitted the actual
compilers. Yet, a few days ago, our IBM Informix sales rep, after having
checked with the IBM Informix IDS Development Product Manager, told us the
libraries were an optional product that we needed to buy from Sun. That
just didn't sound quite right to me. I hadn't heard that Solaris 9 had
dropped any libraries that were formerly included.
