This is not such a big problem for the p-code system, but to preserve symmetry between the p-code and c-code systems, the p-code system also mangles cursor names in exactly the same way as in the c-code system. This means that the CURSOR_NAME() function works the same way too, and there was a FGLPCFLAGS environment variable added to allow -globcurs to be specified (use C4GLFLAGS for the p-code system). Please look in the release notes -- it is covered in excruciating detail, but even that doesn't seem to satisfy everyone.
