Visual Basic Data Director problem

Dear Sirs, I am using Visual Basic version 5 and Visual Basic data director version 3.5 on windows95 . When linking the DBGrid control to fields from the data group the arabic data stored in the database in those fields do not show up correctly, instead some latin characters are shown. Although when linking the same fields to text box controls the arabic data are shown correctly. When trying to use the normal Visual Basic database connection with the server through ODBC the arabic data are shown correctly on the DBGrid. The strangest thing is .. (when using the Data Director) I can type arabic letters in the DBGrid and save the data and they are saved correctly in the DataBase .. but as soon as I lose focus from the record in the DBGrid the text changes to latin characters! ..
