Any help is greatly appreciated! You could try our ODBC driver: SCO SQL-Retriever; it will cope quite happily with Informix 4-7 (SE/OnLine) on many UNIX platforms. Unfortunately, we don't do a port for the Mac. Take a look at http://www.sco.com/vision/products/sqlretriever/ for more information and a downloadable eval.
