Which preprocessor for 4GL and ace ???

Sirs, for some purposes, I must write the same 4GL-code with only small differences. I want to use a preprocessor for this case. Also there are some Lists, that have only small differences (sometimes only "order by 1" or "order by 2" and a header). I am sure, someone has similar problems solved and could say what preprocessor is the best for this. Do You use cpp or m4 or something else ????
