You are right, my CSDK is version is 2.70, (ODBC driver version 3.80 32 bit). The user's password does not contain any special characters, I also tried with a dictionary word password and got the same bad password message. I checked the release notes en it says that the bug : 110423 IDS LINUX EDITION: CONNECT WITH USER/PASSWD FAILS ON SERVERS WHICH USE SHADOW OR MD5 PASSWD FILES. NEED FURTHER MODS TO OSPASSWD.C, OSAUTH.C is already corrected. I can't upgrade my IDS version at this moment, what else can i do ? thanks ----- Original Message ----- From: "Richard Spitz" <Richard.Spitz@med.uni-muenchen.de> To: <informix-list@iiug.org> Sent: Thursday, July 08, 2004 3:18 AM Subject: Re: ODBC connection from Windows to Linux > "Francisco Roldan" <f_roldan@admcentralagricola.com.gt> schrieb: > > >I installed the CliendSDK Ver 3.80(32bits) on > >a Windows XP Professional PC > > Please verify the version number. Are you running NIS? if so you could be encountering 125608 ON LINUX (KERNEL 2.2.5) USER CANNOT CONNECT (ERROR 952, WRONG PASSWORD) WHEN PASSWORD SHADOWING (PWCONV) AND NIS IS ENABLED Fixed in 7.31UD1 and later. The only possible workaround to this problem is to either disable NIS or password shadowing.
