Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Harold Alcantara, new to Informix Dynamic 4GL 2.10, got FORMS error -1170 (terminal type unknown) on an IBM3151 terminal. Peter Schubert pointed to an IBM termcap file in the IIUG archive. QueriX suggested using a compiled terminfo entry via tic and setting TERM. Surfer! said /etc/termcap may lack an entry for $TERM or $TERMCAP may point to the wrong file. No outcome was reported.

Have you tried using terminfo rather than termcap?
You can create a terminfo from termcap, you must also make sure that the you
export TERM= <path><IBM3151> (<path> is the directory where you store your
compiled
terminfo files <IBM3151> is your compiled terminfo for IBM3151 terminal) you
use tic to
compile terminfo source files.

Either your /etc/termcap file doesn't contain an entry matching your
value of '$TERM', or '$TERMCAP' is pointing to the wrong file.
You can put the termcap entry in a file other than /etc/termcap so long
as $TERMCAP points to it. We do this with our product - saves hacking
away at /etc/termcap, which is always worth avoiding!
