Re: oninit: Cannot open chunk '/dev/online_root'. errno = 2

online_root doesn't DO anything. It is the default name of the Unix file or raw
device that holds your root dbspace. You are using the default value for ROOTPATH
in the onconfig file. You need to create a link to a device file (if using a raw
device) or create a file-system file, using some name that means something to you,
like maybe /dev/mydatabase_root. Actually, it is usually a good idea to keep these
things out of the /dev filesystem, if for no other reason than to separate your
database stuff from your Unix stuff. Anyway, after you have created the raw device
link or the cooked file, change the value for ROOTPATH in the onconfig, then retry
your 'oninit -i'.
By the way, the value for errno should be contained in a /usr/include/sys/errno.h,
at least that's where it is on the Unix machines I've played with. Don't have a
Linux box close at hand to check. If you look there, you'll probably find that
errno=2 translates to something like:
#define ENOENT 2 /* No such file or directory */
which might have helped you decipher this earlier.

Words that come to mean everything may finally mean nothing; yet
their very emptiness may allow them to be filled with a mesmerizing
