SQL for current database - Thanks
Posted in 1997
Thanks to everyone for replying to my "SQL for current database" query, although I think I omitted to say that this query must run in a program where the session-id is unknown. After a few pointers, I check the etc/sysmaster.sql list and found a view called syssescurses, which shows lots of info (including the currently open database) for the session that is executing the query. Beware, however, I have contacted Tech Support and they say that although this is a perfectly valid piece of SQL, it is not supported by Informix and any changes to this view in future releases which cause the query to become invalid are not the responsibility of Informix. -- Rick Ward Senior DBA Great Universal Stores Home Shopping MANCHESTER, UK All views and comments in this e-mail are expressed by myself only, and are not necessarily representative of my employer, Great Universal Stores.
