I believe I saw this problem at one point also. If I recall, I got around the problem, by increasing the SHMBASE in the config file. More often then not, the default SHMEM base on the Sequent ports (my platform), has been too small, so when memory is needed for sorting, it fails. Not very graceful error handling huh? Try increasing your SHMBASE, and try again.
